"Our nation is in trouble; deep trouble; far more than most people realise, or our Government wishes to acknowledge.
"Britain has the highest rate of family breakdown and the highest rate of teenage pregnancy in Europe and a reputation for drunkenness, offensive language, obscenity, and violent behaviour both at home and abroad. Our banking and financial institutions which for hundreds of years were recognised throughout the world for integrity, honesty and reliability are now seen to be corrupt, greedy and unreliable.
God has watched over Britain for many centuries, bringing us through times of danger and times of economic hardship to the prosperity of the second half of the 20th century. But we are part of a generation that has squandered our prosperity by our greed and selfishness; destroyed family life that gave security and love to our children; lost our social cohesion and corrupted our national moral standards. We have dishonoured our Christian heritage through our lack of concern for the poor of the world, our personal pursuit of material wealth and our reckless disregard of the natural environment of which before God we are stewards."
Dr. Clifford Hill
We are asking the Lord Jesus Christ to...
We believe a part of this process is to bring Christians together to repent of our sins and to pray for ourselves and our nation. Christians need to "find their voice again" and take the message of salvation "to the streets".

"Heal Our Land" is an interactive prayer and mobilisation event by Jimmy and Carol Owens adapted for the challenges of today’s British church. The Owen’s musicals “Come Together” and “If My People” played a significant role in past renewal movements.
We believe that again, this new production, adapted by major British - based songwriters and artists from many styles and ethnicities, can be instrumental toward creating an atmosphere of repentance, a culture of prayer and a fresh passion for Jesus and the lost.
We believe “Heal Our Land” can be a catalyst for furthering Christian cooperation and multi-cultural understanding through united national prayer, developing a major reproducible, multi-cultural production and mounting strategic evangelistic efforts throughout the UK.
PROPOSAL
⁃ See national movements of prayer united to bring breakthrough in evangelism.
⁃ Develop a production of “Heal Our Land” interactive prayer concert - designed to
inform and to “move” the followers of Christ to prayer and action together.
⁃ See Evangelists and evangelistic groups united in mobilizing the local church to re-
evangelise the nation.
In England, 1971, “Festival of Light” was launched. Its purpose was to protest against the exploitation of sexual behavior in the media and the arts and to proclaim the Christian Gospel as the positive answer to the problem. Two rallies were planned, one to represent a civic protest against moral pollution, while the other would proclaim the gospel and present the claims of Christ. The two meetings would be linked by a march of witness.
The citizen’s demonstration saw 35,000 gathered in Trafalgar Square.
Thousands then marched to Hyde Park where over 100,000 knelt to pray for the nation and hear testimonies and musical presentations. This continued on with regional rallies and marches across the country. Social action and training took place across the nation.
This was followed throughout the 70’s with musical presentations by Jimmy and Carol Owens introducing new styles of worship, prayer and a call to repentance and evangelism. The Lord moved in power and many established churches experienced renewal and new churches were planted to reach contemporary society. Over the decades there have been other effective movements that have made a marginal impact on the British society.
Now the church, both established and new, are seeing our Christian Foundations seriously eroded. We are experiencing the fallout of national immorality and greed. This coupled with the rise of pluralism and humanism in all areas of society is bringing the judgment of God. We believe it is time for the church to repent for our complacency and our sin and the sin of our nations. We believe the Lord wants to rekindle His fire in our hearts as we unite together in intercession and evangelism.
This is a new day. Individually there have been pockets of revival and success. Now we believe God wants to visit the nations in power in to fulfill the famous vision He gave to Jean Darnall of a generation aglow with God’s glory streaming like rivers of fire from the top of Scotland to Lands End, to Ireland and Europe. He wants to again unite His people in a powerful move of love and holiness. He wants to mobilize the new work force he has called from every nation to partner with the host British church to bring in the massive global harvest of souls that are in our towns and cities.
With this in mind we are calling for another “Festival of Light”. We are asking God to “Heal Our Land”.
PURPOSE – to accelerate the good work that is already going on and to provide a means for further understanding and cooperation between Christian believers so that together we can reach this nation for Jesus.
BY:
PLAN Today, the nation is in great trouble. Never was there greater need for the gospel to heal our land: never was there greater opportunity!
Day 1 – 6 (Sun. – Fri.) Prayer
Each venue would have 8 days of dedicated prayer. These prayer events could be combined with existing events on the UK Christian calendar. We believe the Lord wants to build an even greater network of intercession praying with fresh passion for the lost.
Day 7 - “Heal Our Land”
The main interactive Prayer Concert Event, “Heal Our Land” would include a variety of music, drama, dance, media presentations, prayers, and responsive readings reflecting the diversity of age, ethnicity, style and history of the church in the UK .
Day 8 – 14 Evangelism

Heal Our Land” would be followed by a dedicated week of evangelism in the city we are targeting. Together we will commit ourselves to sharing the Good News of Jesus wherever He has placed us. There will be Evangelist driven local church events, street ministry, and united efforts, etc. The final event would be an International Evangelistic event: “Festival of Light 2” in the afternoon followed by an evening evangelistic youth concert. Depending on the dates, it could be in a park or a stadium.
Follow up:
These events would be followed up by dedicated websites monitored by local believers.
The events would be reproducible and church and other ministry leaders would be encouraged to take the events into their own areas, cities, towns and villages.Tool kits” would be available including CDs with backing tracks for “Heal Our Land” performances, DVDs for training, ideas and instructions on how to reach your area with the Gospel.

THE DREAM
"I had a dream....Everyone was surging toward a precipice. They were ALL on a course for destruction.
A VOICE WAS HEARD "REPENT". The Christian believers all turned around and faced the direction the voice was coming from....it was the voice of JESUS.
He directed us to link arms. When we did, to our surprise there were many more of us than we had realised. We were of all ages and ethnicities. The Lord had brought us together from every nation in the world to be a part of the prayer and evangelism force. As we locked arms, the surge stopped and we saw men, women and children from every nation standing before us. The Lord had brought them to the UK to find Him. Acts 17:26 - 27
Liz Doyle - Evangelist CCM Ministries
The Lord is asking us to link arms in prayer and evangelism. Before we can do that we need to repent of our unwillingness to work together, our pride and lack of love that have caused us to be silent, watching as the world falls over the precipice.
