ASHFORD BACKGROUND PRAYER PROFILE

1.  Ashford Town has been designated by the media as one of the 10 most popular towns in the UK to live in.

2.  Ashford has a history of Christians being martyred, with a plot of land called “The Martyrs’ Field”

3.  Ashford hosts an Outlet Centre popular with shoppers on the look-out for designer bargains.

4.  The International Railway Station linking the UK with Europe via the Channel Tunnel is in Ashford.

5.  Generally Ashford as a smaller town is lower in crime than a city, but has experienced at least one murder each year.

6.  Youth culture – apart from Christians – the usually patterns of parties, drinking and night clubs, but without too much disturbance to the community.
