What people are saying about the Heal Our Land UK singers!!!
“I work at the English National Opera, so I am used to hearing amazing singing all the time ... when I heard the Heal our Land singers, I was seriously moved. The choir not only is anointed, but technically sound and very professional. They'd give the ENO chorus a run for their money!”

HEAL OUR LAND UK LAUNCH
Saturday, 12 September 2009 at Moggerhanger Park
More than 250 invited guests attended the launch of the new musical "Heal Our Land" at Moggerhanger Park on 12th September 2009. The perfect weather of unbroken sunshine throughout the day enabled many prayer partners of the Centre for Contemporary Ministry who had been attending the Open Day to sit on the grass outside the marquee and enjoy the event.

Central to the launch was a cross cultural/interdenominational choir led by Lloyd and Denis Wade who sang four songs from
“Heal Our Land” with a professional quality that also had a special anointing which added a spiritual dimension to the harmonies. Between the songs a number of speakers gave the background to the musical, its purpose and the need it is expected to fulfil when it goes on a national tour next year. HEAL OUR LAND UK singers

Dr Clifford Hill spoke of the social revolution that had shaken the nation in the past 40 years culminating in the banking and financial crisis which has paved the way for a new openness to the gospel in Britain. He thanked the Rev Kenn Baird UK National Leader of the Foursquare Church for their generous gift of £50,000 that had enabled the launch and subsequent project to be developed. Lady Susie Sainsbury spoke of the need for prayer for our nation as, without prayer giving direction and bringing the blessing of God, all our human effort will not be effective.

Dr Justin Thacker of the Evangelical Alliance emphasised the need for united action if Christians were to fulfil their mission of communicating truth to the nation at this time and George Verwer founder of Operation Mobilisation brought a blend of humour and enthusiasm in his call for Christians of all branches of the church to be active in sharing their faith. Liz Doyle gave some of the background to the writing of “Heal Our Land” and praised the work of Lloyd and Denis Wade who had re-arranged and updated some of the songs from the original musical written by Jimmy and Carol Owens and had also written some new songs. She said that in the coming weeks new songs will be written and the
script will be revised and finalised.

What's Next
Three pre-launch presentations are being arranged for January 2010. These will be primarily for Christian leaders from cities where churches have shown an interest in hosting “Heal Our Land”. These presentations are being planned in London, Liverpool and Birmingham. Liz Doyle reported that already there is a list of about 10 cities where leaders are planning to host the
musical.
The tour is expected to begin in April 2010.
Liverpool is hoping to host the first presentation.
Each event will cover a two week period with the first week being devoted to prayer, preparation and helping Christians in the local churches to know how to share their faith. The week will
climax in the presentation of “Heal Our Land” over the weekend and the following week there will be a concentration on mobilisation of the local churches in a variety of evangelism outreaches on the streets of the city.
Guests sat at round tables each seating ten and they were placed so that they shared a common interest. Among the 25 tables there were tables for musicians, for those working in the media, for evangelists, for pastors and church leaders, for businessmen, professionals, youth and children's workers, intercessors and even a table for the military and police as among the guests there were an army Major, on sick leave from Afghanistan, and two Major Generals.

A number of guests were church leaders from cities and towns where interest has been expressed in hosting a “Heal Our Land” event. These cities included Liverpool, London, Newcastle, Cardiff, Southampton, Ashford and Leicester. Enquiries have already been received from a number of other cities where church leaders are praying about the possibility of being involved. During the launch the importance of this prayer-backing on a united basis was emphasised and it was seen as essential that prayer networks across the country need to be linked to ensure adequate prayer covering.
The programme included video greetings from Pat Boone, Jimmy and Carol Owens, Pastor Jack Hayford and Jean Darnall who had all been involved in the If My People productions of the 1970s, all assuring us of the prayer and practical support of Christians in the USA who are keenly interested in the progress of the gospel in Britain. A time of round-table discussion gave opportunity for guests to give their reactions to what they had heard of “Heal Our Land” and how they thought they could
become involved. The feedback from this discussion was very valuable for the organisers. This was followed by a time of prayer around the tables and the second presentation of the “Heal Our Land” theme song after which Syd Doyle led the assembly in a final a time of prayer.

The whole launch event was recorded by video and 20 of the guests recorded interviews which will form part of a DVD which will be made available for those who are praying about having a
presentation in their town or city to further their work of evangelism during 2010.
The launch exceeded all expectations with a consensus of agreement that the time was right for this project to begin. Funding is now being raised to produce a CD and DVD for purchase. Talks are in progress with church leaders about how this collaborative effort can further mission in their towns and
cities, prayer networks are being alerted and main media outlets are gearing up to "get the message out". We are recruiting local choirs, music groups, and creative arts to become involved.
